Our #1 Laneways

Degraves Street, melbourne

We can't talk about Melbourne laneways without mentioning this classic! Coffee, lunch, gift shopping, and a cheeky bar tucked up the stairs. This is the place to go for your best tourist pics, drinks and eats.

niagara lane, melbourne

One of the rare Melbourne lanes still in it's original condition!

It runs roughly north-south between Lonsdale Street and Little Bourke Street. The lane is named after the Niagara buildings, early 20th century warehouses which feature their row of original pulley and hook stocking systems fromhorse and cart days.

The lane is lined by pre-war buildings, is cobbled in bluestone and is accessible to pedestrians and small vehicles. It has a southward vista dominated by the copper dome topped post modern tower 333 Collins Street and Eureka Tower.

Home to our smallest gallery, a bar voted as one of the best in the world, and an ever-growing public art space. This local secret is soon to become a feature on all of Melbourne's guide books.
